Sean Doron: I don't like to limit myself in terms of music styles

Following a run of hugely successful releases on his recently formed Scenarios imprint over the past twelve months, Israeli producer Sean Doron now looks to continue his emphatic run of first-rate studio output away from home, as he teams up with hotly-tipped Turkish artist Marc Gonen for the pair's eagerly awaited debut collaboration, You're All I Ever Need, via Tel-Aviv-based imprint, Frau Blau.

A sublime creation emerging from the meeting of two musical masterminds, You're All I Ever Need is a genre-transcending record that maintains the element of surprise throughout. Giving us a first-hand insight into their acutely honed crafts, the two producers come together to deliver a vibrant collaboration of impressive proportions. An emotionally charged sonic journey characterized by melancholic chord progressions and an infectious chanting lead – contrasted against thumping kicks and intricate analog detailing – the record already looks set to be a surefire weapon at clubs and festivals alike over the course of 2023.

Hello Sean and thanks for taking the time to chat to us. How are you?
— Hey guys, thanks for having me! I'm good, working on new music at the moment.
Where in the world are you right now?
— In Tel Aviv, celebrating Purim with some shows around the country.
Massive congratulations on your new single 'You're All I Ever Need' on Frau Blau. Can you talk to us through the release and what fans can expect when it drops?
— Thanks! This single means a lot to me. Fans can expect catchy vocals and really nice remix from a very talented producer - AERA.
How did you connect with Frau Blau for this project? Do you have a long history with the label or is this your first release?
— It's my first release with Frau Blau, The founders Kadosh and Omri are my good friends and we have been waiting for the right moment and now it's here :)
We're also loving the Aera remix on the package. How did that come about?
— Aera is one of my fav producers out there, Kadosh sent him the original track and he felt it right away and few days later already delivered this bomb remix.
Going back to your formative years, can you explain when and how you fell in love with electronic music? Was there a particular moment when the penny dropped?
— I fell in love with electronic music from a very young age, at the age of 16 I already started going to raves in Tel Aviv and there I was exposed to house and techno and international artists for the first time: Maceo Plex, Kenny Larkin, Carl Craig and more.
What music (or artists) have played the biggest role in shaping you as an artist?
— Carl Craig, DJ Koze, Moodyman, Four tet
How would you describe your sound, and why did you choose to pursue your particular brand electronic music over other styles? What is it about the genre that you love so much?
— I don't like to limit myself in terms of music styles. I am an eclectic DJ and I play vibe and not genre. So I can find myself playing in one set: house, disco, techno and more.

Regarding the music we release on our label - our goal is to release music that is timeless, rather than music that is popular and hyped at the moment.
In April 2022, you launched your Scenarios collective and label, together with your partner Maga. As we approach the first anniversary, how has the first 12 months been?
— This last year been a crazy ride for Scenarios, from releasing some tracks that became very popular for music lovers and DJs to events we did at our favourite cities around the world.
What have been some of your biggest highlights with Scenarios over the past year?
— For me biggest highlights was our Scenarios event at Tel aviv and LA. and releasing our tracks: Starlight, Disconnect, Here to Stay were a big success.
Looking forwards, do you have any specific goals or objectives you would like to achieve with the label over the next few years?
— I would love for our music to reach as many people as possible around the world, to build a fan base for us and to perform with the members of the collective and guest artists in our favorite places around the world.
If you could put on your own show anywhere in the world, where would it be and who would you have joined you on the lineup?
— It will be in Ibiza, with our collective crew: Emanuel Satie, Maga, Tim Engelhardt, Myself and DJ Koze as a guest.
Finally, do you have any other projects coming up soon that you'd like to share with us?
— I have lots of music coming out this year, together with exciting shows around the world, our next Scenarios event will take place at Bali which will be my first time there! so i'm excited for this one.
Thank you Sean, we wish you all the best!
— Thank you.
