Lehar: my style can't be described under a single genre

Italian maestro Lehar drops his debut with TAU today, with three original cuts and two remixes. Lehar heads up the Multinotes label, and his productions have caught the ear of tastemakers at labels such as Afterlife and Diynamic, among others. Known for his deep, subtle sound Lehar is a welcome addition to the TAU squad. We caught up with the man himself to find out more.
Hello Lorenzo, and thanks for taking the time to chat to us. We're nearing the end of another year. How has 2022 been for you so far? Any highlights?
Ciao guys and thanx for having me here. 2022 has been my best year in terms of number of gigs. 2023 will be an important year for my career and myself.
Where in the world are you right now?
At the moment I'm home, I had a nice weekend home for my birthday.
Massive congratulations on your huge new EP 'The 26th Beginning' on TAU. Can you talk to us through the release and what fans can expect when it drops?
— Thank you so much for the nice words. It's a release that means a lot to me cause represents a new step music wise. Talking about the original tracks, they are very different from each others, the 26th beginning has the essence of Lehar sound, the other 2 are much more trippy and gives probably more space for interpretations.
How did you connect with TAU and Adana Twins for this project?
Adana Twins and I are good friends and we respect each other since a long time. We have played in many parties together and to share our own productions was something that came naturally.
Going back to your formative years, can you explain when and how you fell in love with electronic music? Was there a particular moment when the penny dropped?
I turned 39 few days ago, I fell in love with electronic music when I went for the first time dancing in a club, so I was 17 something like that..
Have you played at a Uniting Souls party before? If so... how would you describe the atmosphere & vibe?
Every genre and every artists I was listening to during these years gave me a little.
How would you describe your sound, and why did you choose to pursue your particular brand electronic music over other styles? What is it about the genre that you love so much?
— Electronic music for me has infinite genres and styles, my style can't be described under a single genre, if you listen to my labels (Multinotes, Buttress) or to my dj sets you can feel that I love to mix over different genres which can give a complete experience to our customers and music lovers.
Looking forwards, do you have any specific goals or objectives you would like to achieve as an artist over the next few years?
— I would like to focus on myself , but also I want to focus on my labels and on the artists which release on Multinotes and buttress, make them grow and make the team bigger.
If you could put on your own show anywhere in the world, where would it be and who would you have joined you on the lineup?
— I would like to have a come back in Naples, the city I was born. Last time I played there was 2019.
Of course all my team Musumeci, Aldebaran, Enzo Elia, Dodi Palese, Phunkadelica, Ivory, Aikon.
Where can we see you perform over the coming months? Any big tours planned?
— From Barcelona this weekend then Berlin Watergate , then Doha Arcadia festival for the final of the World Cup, then I have an India tour and then Dubai for NYE. Going to Tulum with the Multinotes family and Guadalajara for 2 showcases and then back to Europe.
Finally, do you have any other projects coming up soon that you'd like to share with us?
— Follow me and you will see ;) surprise…
Thank you Lorenzo, we wish you all the best!
— Thanx a lot guys, all the best to you too
