Aycond has now been in the scene for a few years, being respected by many well established DJs. He has also been invited by many organizers to different events, becoming a reference in electronic music in his region. In a new phase of his career, he is focused on producing his own songs, imprinting more and more his sets with his tastes and style.
— How did you get interested in electronic music? And how can you define your main genres?
— Koalla: I started at raves (*outdoors) in Brazil there were many parties in mid 2003, 2004 many festivals and open parties and since I was 16 I always liked it, I think that's where I come from my style that I like more progressive house and melodic

— Aycond: From a very young age I developed a great love for electronic music, being influenced by an uncle. As a teenager, I started going to events and watching DJs play. It fueled my passion and made me want to be the one who controls the dance floor. At 15 years old, I played for the first time as a professional DJ and, from that moment on, I never stopped. Nowadays I define my main genre as progressive house, but I also try to combine it with the Brazilian taste for music (like powerful bass and groove drums). Here people are very happy: they love dancing to the bass sound.
— Congratulations on your next release "So Cold", which will be coming out soon on Pillar. What's the story behind the track?
— Aycond: Thank you! I started the track with Eric Prydz as the main reference. After a lot of brainstorming, the main solo melody came out and the voice was added. The song's first draft was born at 124BPM, with an acid lead in the fall. I added some melodic elements, with progressive influences from Stephan Bodzin, and then sent it to Koalla, who took the project to the next level. His drum magic made him more groovy and turned some of the acidic vibe into downright creamy sounds. He also made changes to the track's arrangement to make it more dance-floor oriented, and eventually the two had a studio session to finalize the details. Throughout the process, Koalla and I put a lot of emotion into the track and the result was a mix of dramatic joy and an explosive drop.
— Is it your first collaboration together? How did you conduct the production process?
— Aycond: Yes, it was our first collaboration. The production process was very fluid. I got the first idea for this track and sent it to Koalla, who worked on it. So I visited his studio and we finished the track together.
— How is everything in terms of shows? Are you DJing again?
— Koalla: Here in Brazil, shows are starting to come back. The big events are coming back and, yes, we are playing and getting back to the show routine!! We expect a 2022 with 100% of normality.
— Finally, how can you define 2021 for the two of you and what would you like to achieve in 2022?
— Koalla: make the best songs of my career and expand my sound outside Brazil again.

— Aycond: 2021 was a year of great changes. I found myself a lot, especially in the music business, I went through some obstacles and very difficult moments. But in the end everything worked out (better than I could have imagined) and now, at the end of the year, I've married the woman of my dreams. I hope that 2022 will be a year of hard work and also with the largest number of tracks released by me, I want to put all my efforts into the growth of my career and play in several places in Brazil.
