Hi Giulio! How are you these days? Happy New Year to you! Where are you at the moment?
— Hey guys, really happy to talk with you and most important thing, happy new year! Hope it will be a great one. At the moment I'm in my hometown Rome in my studio, finishing some fresh tunes for 2023 and on my way to lunch to eat a good pasta Carbonara ehehe.
— How was 2022 for you? Any highlights? And what do you expect from 2023?
— Well, 2022 was really amazing. First of all because we back to normality after 2 hard years. About highlights my tour gave me big happy moments like my first gigs in New York City, my dj set for the Italian legend Jovanotti in front of 50.000 people and last but not least my dj set for my football team S.S. Lazio at Olimpic Stadium in Roma.
Congratulations on the upcoming release "Tagata" on the new Risky Label. Can you talk to us through the release and how it came about?
— It's really incredible how the track came up cause I was in the studio and had in my mind to create a tech house track, starting from a catchy sample instrument or voice, that could be a club weapon for dj's and dancefloors. After few minutes I found the voice loop in my old library and it came up super quickly. I Love it!
Which emotions do you want for the listeners to experience while listening to "Tagata"?
— Tagata for me is the perfect club track, so I hope that people listening to it can dance and be happy on the dancefloor. I love the way how it works, cause there's a long break when the track has a climax with voice pitch that create a tension before the drop explosion.
What music (or artists) have played the biggest role in shaping you as an artist over the years?
— I started my music career listening and taking inspiration from the best producers of 90's and the first 2000's house scene like Daft Punk, Todd Terry, Armand Van Helden, Axwell.
Do you have any upcoming gigs or projects that you would like to tell us about?
— Yes, in February I will do a new short North American in Canada (Toronto) and USA (New York, Atlantic City) and I'm super excited for it!
If you could choose one phrase to describe your daily motivation, what would it be?
— I don't know if there's a phrase but in general my mentality in my job is to do the best and most important thing without excuses. If you do your best without envy and be nervous but constantly, you will reach your achievements.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
— Just say thank you for this interview and a big ciao from Italy to all Radio Intense fans!
