Λ I R T H Q U Λ K E: this project is a place for us to champion new music and ideas

Today we are pleased to welcome another guest, Λ I R T H Q U Λ K E!

Anastasios Antoniou and James Alexander need no introduction. Their combined contribution to the electronic music industry and the music they champion has spanned several decades and has seen them perform and produce for the most prestigious and established events brands and record labels worldwide. Now veterans of the scene they join as a combined force under the alias 'A I R T H Q U A K E' and the duo set their sites in the world of Melodic Techno, Progressive House and Afro House since their musical tastes are not constrained to one genre, but most importantly they are staying true to their rave culture roots.

We talked to Λ I R T H Q U Λ K E about their new release "Between Us" coming on Saturate and other projects! Read more below.
— Hi guys! How are you today? Thanks for chatting with us!
How can you describe "Λ I R T H Q U Λ K E"? What is the story behind the name and project?
    — Hi, we're doing great and thank you for asking! Λ I R T H Q U Λ K E is a collaborative project between myself, James Alexander and Tasos Antoniou. I guess the story behind the project is based on our fascination with electronic music. Tasos is already a well-established international DJ and producer under the name Hi-Profile and historically I had a good run as a producer and international DJ back in the early millennium under several pseudonyms, but then moved into the management and development of international artists leaving me very little time to produce or tour as my day-to-day duties became very demanding. After working alongside Tasos on multiple projects recently with perfect synergy, we both decided it made sense to collaborate and aim our art on the progressive and melodic side of dance music, which my management company EPIKA Artists has been focused on for the past 6 years.
    A I R T H Q U A K E is now a place for us to champion new music and ideas.
      — We are speaking with you following the release of "Between Us" coming next week on Saturate. We are very excited to hear it! What can you tell us about the single and what was the inspiration behind it?
        — The inspiration for "Between Us" was our very first attempt at the genre of melodic techno and I guess all the inspiration comes from our surroundings and recent influences, we both travel a lot and have attended some of the world's leading festivals and events this year, absorbing everything that's current from a broad spectrum of genres and performing artists. Between Us is a very good introduction to the project,
        A I R T H Q U A K E.
Can you tell us a bit about the artists or genres that have influenced you both the most in your careers?
            — Both I and Tasos was very lucky to be raised around the early 90's rave culture and subject to acts such as the KLF, Utah Saints, Enigma, Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, Faithless, Leftfield, BT, Sasha, The Prodigy, Chicane, Paul Van Dyk and Orbital. Whose music has evidently stood the test of time? Could we ask for better influences?
What do you like to do outside of music? Do you have any hobbies?
              — Hobbies, we wish we had any spare time! We are both very busy with multiple music industry jobs.
Looking forwards, do you have any goals you would like to achieve in the future as an artist?
              — Yes, we have some very big plans for the brand. We have a barrage of new music set for release across several very credible labels. A few remixes of classic tracks and some very exciting collaborative projects.
              — And following, do you have any upcoming gigs or projects that you would like to tell us about?
              — As I am the CEO of my own artist management and artist agency company when the time is right, we will be taking to the stage and touring, but for now. We are focused on the development of the brand. Only a matter of time.
                — What would be the most valuable piece of advice you could give to an aspiring artist?
                  — Well, this is a very good question, and my answer would be as long as a toilet roll if I really got started, so to keep this short, the music industry and the market changes so quickly these days, that you need to be on top of everything at all times. All artists should utilize the tools provided by social media platforms, YouTube etc and independently market their brands correctly. You need to stand out! Brand image and marketing are huge factors. Now that making music is so easy and so accessible, thanks to the development of music software. Everyone on earth wants to be and can be a music producer and DJ.
